Daniel Anil Das never really set out to become an author. For most of his life, he was simply busy living it.

His journey has taken him through more twists and turns than he could ever have planned—successes he once thought would define him, failures that humbled him, dreams that opened doors and others that closed firmly in his face. Along the way came a corporate career, entrepreneurship, real estate, marriage, fatherhood, faith, and more than a few lessons learned the hard way.

Today, Daniel and his wife, Rekael, are both active in Singapore’s real estate industry, working with two of the country’s leading real estate agencies while building their business together. Daniel also works as a Product Expert with an international MNC, bringing together years of experience in business, sales, people, and customer relationships.

These days, however, Daniel likes to think of himself as almost semi-retired—although his definition of retirement seems to involve real estate, a corporate career, writing books, riding motorcycles, and dreaming up whatever comes next. Somewhere along the way, he discovered a new love: writing.

But the most important parts of Daniel’s story have never been found on a business card.

They are found at home.

Daniel and Rekael are blessed with two sons, Ryan and Asher, both of whom live with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a progressive muscle-wasting condition that has brought challenges no parent would ever wish upon their children. Yet Duchenne is only one part of their story. It does not define who Ryan and Asher are.

Through the difficult seasons, their family’s trust and faith in Jesus Christ have become an anchor. And remarkably, rather than allowing their circumstances to rob them of joy, Ryan and Asher have grown into young men who bring joy to the people around them. Their lives have taught Daniel and Rekael something profound: a blessed life is not necessarily a life without hardship. Sometimes the greatest testimony is discovering faith, laughter, love and purpose right in the middle of it.

Ryan and Asher have profoundly shaped the man, husband, father and writer Daniel has become. Through them, he has learned lessons about courage, dependence, hope and grace that no classroom, career or success could ever have taught him.

And through every season runs one constant thread—his faith in Jesus Christ.

Daniel’s first book, Destined for Success, grew out of these raw experiences. It isn’t the story of a man who got everything right. Far from it. It is the story of discovering that success looks very different from what we imagine when we are young. Sometimes the door you desperately wanted to open remains shut, only for you to discover years later that God was writing a much bigger story.

At the centre of that journey is Daniel’s relationship with Jesus. That relationship inspired his second book, Oh My Jesus!, a more intimate exploration of what it means to walk through ordinary, everyday life with Him—through faith and doubt, laughter and mistakes, marriage and fatherhood, work and disappointment, motorcycles and quiet moments, and all the wonderfully messy bits in between.

Daniel doesn’t write as a theologian. He writes as a husband, a father, a businessman, and an ordinary man who has succeeded, failed, fallen, risen and started again. Along the way, he has discovered that God is not only present in life’s great miracles and defining moments. He can also be found in the crumbs of everyday life.

Perhaps that is why writing arrived at this stage of Daniel’s life.

Just when he thought he was beginning to slow down, another chapter opened.

Ultimately, Daniel’s writing is not about having a perfect life. It is about discovering purpose in the life you have been given, recognising grace in places you may have overlooked, and understanding that the end of one dream may simply be the beginning of another.

And at this stage of his life, Daniel Anil Das is discovering that perhaps some of his best chapters are still waiting to be written.
